common egg eaters live in most of sub-Saharan Africa, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. they are found in a variety of habitats from semi-desert to Savannah, forest and woodland. as you can guess from their name they feed only on bird eggs, which leads to a feast-famine period, as birds lay their eggs in the spring, not year round. they are nocturnal colubroids. they also mimic saw scaled vipers to scare predaters.
